Privacy Policy

This page contains separate privacy policies for Faith Garden and Rooted: Christian Focus. The Faith Garden policy appears first. Rooted users should read the “Rooted: Christian Focus — Privacy Policy” section below, updated 13 October 2026.

Faith Garden — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 September 2026

This privacy policy applies to the Faith Garden app (the “Application”) for mobile devices, created by Jason Mayo (the “Service Provider”, “we”, or “us”). Faith Garden offers subscription-based features. This policy explains the information processed when you use the Application.

Information Collection and Use

Faith Garden processes information needed to provide accounts, subscriptions, community features, saved gardens, app blocking, and prayer and quiet-time experiences. Depending on the features you use, this includes your name, email address, account identifier, hashed phone number and contact-matching information, subscription and purchase history, saved garden content, and content you choose to submit through community features. Account and shared content are processed by our backend services to provide these features.

We also collect product-usage events to understand whether onboarding is helpful, where people leave the onboarding flow, whether they see the paywall, and whether they use the app after starting a trial. These events include onboarding screens viewed, trial starts, home-screen and first-steps-card interactions, quiet-time sessions, app-blocking setup, and Prayer Lock and community prayer interactions. Event details can include timestamps, durations, completion status, subscription status, product identifiers, app version, and counts of selected apps or categories.

When the Application connects to external services, those services receive network information such as your IP address. The Application does not collect precise device location. We disable IP-based location enrichment in our PostHog analytics events.

Product Analytics with PostHog

We use PostHog to process these analytics events and prepare reports that help us improve Faith Garden. Events are associated with a randomly generated, persistent identifier so that actions from the same installation can be counted together. We do not attach your Faith Garden account ID, name, email address, or phone number to these PostHog events. This is pseudonymous event-level data; it is not aggregated before it is sent.

PostHog also receives technical context such as device model, operating-system version, app version, screen dimensions, language, time zone, and network-connection type. Our PostHog project uses US cloud hosting, so analytics data may be processed outside the country where you live.

We do not send onboarding questionnaire answers, prayer text, contact lists, or the names or Screen Time tokens of blocked apps to PostHog. We have disabled PostHog session replay, automatic screen and tap capture, surveys, and automatic error reporting. The PostHog identifier is reset when you log out. Resetting this identifier does not delete events already collected.

We use PostHog data to understand and improve Faith Garden. We do not use this PostHog data to target advertisements across other companies’ apps and websites.

Service Providers and Advertising Measurement

Faith Garden uses external services for the following purposes:

Supabase: account authentication, backend storage, and account, community, contact-matching, and saved-garden features. Supabase privacy policy.

RevenueCat: purchase validation, subscription status, entitlements, and subscription reporting. RevenueCat privacy policy.

Superwall: paywall presentation, paywall interactions, and subscription-related experiences and reporting. Superwall privacy policy.

PostHog: the product analytics described above. PostHog privacy policy.

Meta: app-install, app-activity, trial, and purchase events used for advertising measurement. This can involve advertising or device identifiers and cross-app advertising measurement, subject to Apple’s tracking permissions. Meta’s SDK may also collect technical data and crash reports. Meta privacy policy.

Apple and Google: sign-in services when you choose the corresponding sign-in method. Apple also processes App Store purchases.

The data shared depends on the service and feature. Some services process account-linked data, some process pseudonymous events, and some process diagnostic or aggregated information. Data sent to external services is therefore not limited to aggregated, anonymous statistics. Providers may process data under their own privacy policies as well as the agreements applicable to their services.

We may also disclose information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.

Your Choices

You can manage Faith Garden’s cross-app tracking permission in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking. This permission controls advertising tracking and is separate from the product analytics described above. Denying advertising tracking permission does not disable PostHog product analytics.

You can stop future collection by the Application by uninstalling it using the standard process on your device. Uninstalling the app does not delete information already held by us or our service providers. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact jason@tryonething.app.

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you'd like them to delete User Provided Data that you have provided via the Application, please contact them at jason@tryonething.app and they will respond in a reasonable time.

Our PostHog events are not associated with your Faith Garden account ID. Logging out or deleting your Faith Garden account does not automatically delete previously collected PostHog events. Contact us about requests concerning analytics data; the information available to locate particular events may be limited because we do not send account identifiers to PostHog.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (jason@tryonething.app) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised last-updated date. Please review this page periodically for changes.

If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about the practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at jason@tryonething.app.

Rooted: Christian Focus — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

This separate section applies to Rooted: Christian Focus, published by Jason Mayo. The Faith Garden policy above applies to Faith Garden. Rooted has no user-account or community system and does not use the Supabase or PostHog integrations described above.

Information stored on your device

Rooted stores your chosen name, onboarding answers, focus subjects and feelings, session history, garden, earned coins and preferences on your device. Rooted does not provide its own cloud sync for this information. Device backups may include local app data according to your Apple settings.

Screen Time permissions

If you allow Screen Time access, Rooted uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity services to shield apps, categories and websites you select during focus sessions. Selections are stored as Apple's privacy-preserving tokens. The app and its extensions share the information needed to manage these sessions on your device. Rooted does not send your selections or focus content to Meta. Screen Time permission is optional and can be revoked in iPhone settings.

Subscriptions and service providers

Apple processes subscription payments. RevenueCat validates purchases, maintains subscription access and supports restores. Superwall presents subscription offers and measures paywall interactions. These services process purchase history, product and transaction information, installation or customer identifiers, device and app information, interactions, performance data and diagnostics as needed to provide and measure their services. Network connections disclose an IP address to the receiving service; Superwall may derive approximate location from it. Rooted does not request precise GPS location and does not receive your payment-card number.

Rooted uses these services to provide the app, understand subscription and paywall performance, and diagnose problems. Data associated with persistent installation or customer identifiers may be linked across events even when it does not include your name. See the RevenueCat privacy policy, Superwall privacy policy and Apple privacy policy.

Meta advertising measurement and tracking choices

Rooted uses Meta's official SDK to measure its Facebook and Instagram advertising. It records app activation/install and subscription checkout events, including trial starts, purchases and subscription starts, together with currency and product value. A trial may be reported with an estimated advertising value; this does not mean you were charged for the trial. Meta may also process technical and diagnostic information. See the Meta privacy policy.

Rooted version 1.0.1 introduces Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission request. If you allow tracking, Meta can use your device's advertising identifier to associate downloads and subscription events with advertising across apps and websites. If you decline, tracking is restricted, or permission has not been granted, Rooted disables advertising-identifier collection and uses Meta's consent-limited SDK event path. This can still involve an app-scoped identifier, IP address and technical metadata; it is not completely anonymous. Rooted does not pass your name, email address, onboarding answers, prayers, focus subjects or RevenueCat customer ID to Meta.

Your tracking choice does not affect access to Rooted's features. You can change it in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. iOS controls whether the permission prompt can appear. Advertising measurement is separate from the processing needed to provide subscriptions and paywalls.

Retention, deletion and other choices

Local app data remains on your device until removed through available app or device controls. Deleting the app removes its local container, but may not remove device backups or information already held by service providers. Purchase, diagnostic and measurement records may be retained under the providers' service settings, retention policies and applicable legal obligations. Services may process data outside your country.

You can stop future collection through the app by uninstalling it. Deleting Rooted does not cancel an Apple subscription: manage or cancel it in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests, contact jason@tryonething.app. Requests concerning provider-held records depend on the information available to identify those records and any applicable retention obligations. Please do not send payment-card details or passwords.

Contact and updates

For privacy questions, including concerns about a child's information, contact Jason Mayo at jason@tryonething.app. Changes to Rooted's policy will be posted in this section with a revised last-updated date.
